Great

Good day Asbed...wow..brave attempt...congratulations! That's something which few people will dared to experiment with! Reading about your interesting observation, I would like to tell you that in theory you are right. The sharpest apertures in most of the lenses are between f/5.6 and f/8 ...however...however...there is another aspect of the all story which has to be revealed. Did you know that the precision of your camera in terms of focusing will be effected from the F stop you are using?! Interesting isn't it! I've made some tests in discovered that when the aperture is fully opened the Auto focus accuracy becomes inconsistent ...so in my opinion the lack of sharpness in your image here is a result of inaccurate focusing ...well, the value of that inaccuracy may be minimal, but at f/2.8 it is enough to destroy the image almost completely, because the depth of field is extremely narrow ! So, Asbed...do not give up the wide aperture settings ...try again...if you are lucky next time the result can be really breathtaking at f/2.8 ...in my opinion!
Regards,
George Veltchev
