Hi Asbed,
Colors seem a little "washed out" due to the strong backlight, but the composition's perfect, and the photo was fitting to the event very well. I wish to see more of your recent shots, so I hope you'll return to TN pretty soon.

Elegant and even artistic greenery capture with surprisingly good depth. While looking at your picture I even feel myself in the forest, seeking for plants and mushrooms to photograph... Beautiful image!

Hi Silvio,
Very interesting underside photo with excellent lights. But please be careful with the dust spots on the lens as there are many detectable here, spoiling the "wow effect" a bit.

Hi Marius,
Your previous post was absolutely perfect, this one, although the pose is very spectacular and the composition's fine, is a little overexposed as I see areas on the white plumage where details were lost. Just a nyance, indeed - probably if you use f/7.1 instead of 5.6 with the same shutter speed, this problem didn't even occur. White balance seems a little bit more cyan than the optimal for me. Anyway, I'm waiting for more pics of your Danube delta series as the potential's surely there!

Hi Dietrich,
Yesssss, this is much-much better than the photo I just commented, sharpness is ok here and the pose is very spectacular, something you wouldn't expect from a butterfly when you're looking at them in the usual resting position. Nice work, congratulations!

Hi Dietrich,
I know it's extremely difficult to photograph flying insects. I never managed to do it at all, so I can't advise how to do better and stuff like that. I can only say my personal opinion after looking at the photo. Probably I'm looking at another image than Luciano and Ram did, as instead of "pin sharp" subject I detect heavy oversharpening on the insect's body, as clearly seen from the increased noise level and the thin bright halo around the antennae and the head. Background noise shows the original photo was overcropped also. I hope you don't mind I told what I've seen.
However, I'm very much interested in your "flying insects" series as it's something unique, not at all the everyday kind of photography, in spite of this image is not being good IMHO.
Kind regards from Ireland, László

Hi Ram,
It's true the contrast is a little bit low due to the background, it's true the branch seems a little overexposed - but the pose of the dragonfly is so spectacular that the viewer (at least me) can easily forget those minor difficulties. Very interesting, I've never seen a dragonfly in this position. Interesting and educational shot, I mean I again learned something new. Thanks for that.

Hi Sri,
Beautiful and due to the blue backlight, mysterious photo. You're very right with the definition "different". Due to the light and the position of the moon it's a unique image, not only with excellent composition and sharpness, but also with very interesting, almost surrealistic color tones. Exceptional work, hats off for you!

Hi Biswarup,
Nice composition... however, a pity you had to overcrop the image so sharpness has gone, and the background became surprisingly noisy. Knowing this camera well I see no reason for high ISO (250) usage in this scenario, especially on a photo made with 21x optical zoom. Another advice would be purchasing a good software, like Photoshop, as the re-sized image needs to be re-sharpened in order to achieve the best result, which is completely missing here. Anyway, because the HX400V offers really a lot, as it's a fantastic bridge camera, I wish you the best of luck for your future experiments.

Hi Luciano,
Well exposed macro with good sharpness, but probably due to the dull colors, it lacks - for me - the "wow effect". I mean, it's a good photo, but compared to your very high standard a little bit flat. On the other side, I know this species is very difficult to photograph, and you did everything you could in order to make this photo spectacular. It's just... not spectacular. Again: for me. Just a personal opinion. I hope you don't mind that I told it.

Hola José,
Pleurotus cornucopiae (Paulet) Rolland. This photo would have been fabulous if the fungi were sharp, I mean if the camera shake doesn't spoil the sharpness. Great compo and nice bokeh's in the background, though.

Hi Marius,
Welcome back to TN, that's the most important thing. :-) Fantastic crop/composition, and with the extremely fast shutter speed you completely froze the pelican's motion. Should be a monster lens for sure. Even the water drops at the big bird's legs are clear. Excellent, excellent!

Ciao Silvio,
Composition-wise beautiful shot, with perfect sharpness and background blur. The "shallow depth" effect is so good that the butterfly even looks like resting on a flat glass, in front of the bg. However, the exposure, at least for me, is a little bit on the "over" side, as I see small loss of detail on the white spots of the wings. Except for this, a fabulous photo.

Hi Srikumar,
Welcome back first of all. Sorry to hear the hackeer attack happened to you, and you lost so many photos, however, I hope you'll have many excellent images again, pretty soon. This one is fabulous, the composition's perfect, such as colors, lights, sharpness. Exceptional shot - and I wish you a lot like this, as soon as possible, to forget human greediness and infamy.

I absolutely agree with Luciano, this is a great portrait. Good sharpness on the plumage and nice composition. Probably, highlights should have been increased, but just a little, in your software. I love Sony DSC-HX400v and its monster lens, absolutely fabulous. Lovely shot, congratulations!

First of all congratulations for capturing this moth the first time, a debut with a new species is always a milestone. Also congratulations for the beautiful photo, great exposure and sharpness, and especially with the holes on the leave, a nice composition. Shallow depth as it should be on an image like this.
