This tiny kingfisher is smaller than a leaf, but its colours made it a subject for TN photos at the Singapore Botanical Gardens. It was the open lake are and no bird cages anywhere in this beautiful garden, near the centre of Singapore City.

Wildlife experts say kingfishers must eat their own bodyweight in fish every day to survive.

Hello Murray
This image makes me think of a Japanese painting. It is very attractive, and the colours are so pretty.
Good shot of the tiny kingfisher.
The Singapore Botanical Gardens must be a great place to visit and see the birdlife.

very nice Murray,
nice composition and nicely lit.. even a little bit of catch-light in the eye for that twinkle.. well done and tfs!

Hi Murray,
This one really stands out from the leafy surroundings.
I like a lot the way its vivid and shining blue tones looks like, as well as the tiny blue spots on its wings.
A very good profile pose, that let us appreciate the big size of its beak.
The overall lighting and mood of the picture is warm and pleasant to look at.
A fine work and thanks for share it.
My best regards,

Ciao Murray, lovely ingfisher with fantastic colors, beautiful composition, good focus, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Murray.
I was out of TN and now can watch photos which I have missed. This one is amazing. I like that you have not cropped this scene. Bird, twigs with wonderful leaves and smooth and nicely coloured BG are fine at highest range. Sharpness of the bird and plant is ultimate and colour palette and lighting are very pleasant too. First-class picture. My compliments.
