|I found another beat up butterfly still going around despite the onset of cold weather here in north India. This one is a Common Leopard sunning itself on a hedge-row in my school garden.|
Phalanta phalantha, the common leopard or spotted rustic, is a sun-loving butterfly of the nymphalid or brush-footed butterfly family.
It is widely distributed and abundant; from the tops of hills in Sri Lanka and southern India and up to 3000 m in the Himalayas, as well as the whole of Sub-saharan Africa.

A real eye catcher for this time of the year, reminds me a lot of the fritillaries I see here in Ohio. Lovely markings and bright vivid colors. Focus is sharp and the exposure looks great. A pleasure to view!!
