This is a frozen Ivy leave.i don't now if ivy is

i liked all the little ice christals on the leave, looked like sugar.
and i also want to wish a verry happy new year to you all with alot of love, pictures and a good health.this is also a hearth dedicated to all the people in asia that are going thru such disaster.another prove natures force can not be overestimated.

pp:-rotated so it had a heart shape, brightness, colours, sharpend with usm.

All ivies are of the genus Hedera but there are several species, of which Hedera helix is the most common. Within the species there are hundreds of different ivies - whether you call them varieties, cultivars or clones does not matter between friends. In fact the huge choice can be somewhat confusing, which leads to three problems with ivies:

The differences between some of them are only really apparent to the fanatical enthusiast and in some cases the same ivy goes under more than one name.

Many of them have a nasty habit (or wonderful habit if you are an enthusiast) of mutating or reverting.

Even without mutation, the young and old leaves of a clone may look different, they may differ according to the time of the year and will vary according to habitat and treatment.

Great texture and colours to this picture Kirsten. It does indeed look as if the ivy has been dipped in sugar.
A very good composition. Good note also!
Well spotted!
Oh and happy new year to you too!

Very good post Kirsten. I don't know about the leegality of Ivy, but I think it should stay because the ice crystals are.. Splendid shot.

Note:**

Nice shot, it could have been better not to use the flash, and to choose a longer exposure (with tripod of course).

Great picture, and the ice on the leaf is sharp, I like the ''Out line'' of the ice on the edge of the leaf!
You manage to get an excellent photo!
What were the light conditions?

WellDone!

Indeed a very nice picture Kirsten - looks like a heart. Nice details in the white frost and nice cropping. Happy New Year to you too.

Very fresch with the ice.
Good colours , very good sharpness and composition.
Very well done.

Happy New Year.

I like this Kirsten. People don't notice frosty leaves much, but you do, and youve captured it beautifully. Well done.

Kirsten!
Simply beauty.Very nice colors, sharpness and details. Thanks for posting

I need to learn how to do closeups. This is so crisp and clear, the shape of the leaf is pleasing and the ice crystals on the edges look like lace.

Hi Kirsten, this is COLD! What a great posting of this frozen leaf and others. I don't know this sort of life where the snow and ice take over your garden. It is winter in Auckland, NZ, right now (July 2005) and my roses are still flowering, and I'll have to prune them soon.
very good interesting shot and notes. Nice and sharp and good textures too. Thank you for sharing.
