Superb close macro of this dragonfly, with excellent detail, especially the compound eye.
We have to wait at least another month before we see dragonflies here in S. Sweden, but in Bavaria you could see some this weekend.

Hallo Sabine,
ganz klar eines deiner Lieblingsobjekte. Die Facettenstruktur der Augen kommt gut heraus. Eine Frage: Hast du der Libelle den flauschigen Miniatursattel in den Nacken gelegt? Na ja, bei dieser Vergrößerung werden eben sonst nicht so deutliche Strukturen sichtbar, wie hier das 'Prothorakal-Tergit'.
Übrigens: Bei uns fliegen zumindest schon die roten Pyrrhosoma nymphula ... es ist also kaum noch Geduld notwendig.

danke Dir für die Heidelibelle. Das Portrait ist Dir sehr gut gelungen. Schärfe, Tiefenschärfe, Bildaufbau, Farben und Beleuchtung - super! Genieße das momentan herrliche Wetter. Ich wüßte nicht, wann ich mal so einen dollen April erlebt hätte. Ich fahre heute auf jeden Fall zum Osnabrücker Zoo. (nachträglicher Geburtstagsausflug)Schau´n wir mal. Wird auf jeden Fall schön werden da ich meine Kinder dabei habe.

What an impressive close-up, my friend!
This is really a very good definition for the word 1:1 macro ;)
I'm sure that if you look in the right places (looking at the temperatures from outside) you'll definitely find some Odonatas this weekend. But anyway, i want to wish you a very big "GOOD LUCK!!!"
The title really fits the description of the dragon.
The details and textures here are magnificent and the DOF is simply outstanding!

Hello Sabine.
A very nice and sharp closeup.
In Holland the dragon and damsels are earlyer then in former years and we can see species now one or two months before. For me it's good but i'm not sure if it's oké because it is a sign of the opheatening of the envirement.
