I shot this bird in a nature park in Al Ain, UAE, on Jan 1, 2015.

The African sacred ibis (Threskiornis aethiopicus) is a species of ibis. Its sister species is the Australian white ibis.

Description

An adult individual is 68 cm (27 in) long with all-white body plumage apart from dark plumes on the rump. The bald head and neck, thick curved bill and legs are black. The white wings show a black rear border in flight. Sexes are similar, but juveniles have dirty white plumage, a smaller bill and some feathering on the neck. This bird is usually silent, but occasionally makes some croaking noises, unlike its vocal relative, the Hadada ibis.

Habitat and distribution

A wading bird of the ibis family, Threskiornithidae, the sacred ibis breeds in Sub-Saharan Africa, southeastern Iraq, and formerly in Egypt, where it was venerated and often mummified as a symbol of the god Thoth. The African sacred ibis occurs in marshy wetlands and mud flats, both inland and on the coast. It will also visit cultivation and rubbish dumps.

Hi Ram,the sharpness is a bit soft, not the best pic talking about the light on the beak and face too,but very good exposure to take the best white of plumage.Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Sir,
Thank you very much for the warm welcome back message. It feels good to be back. We both are fine and I hope you and your family are also fine.:)
About the picture, Good shot of this species. It is not the same that we see in our place, I presume. Anyway, thanks for the share and looking forward to more pictures,
Regards,
Smitha.

Hallo Ram

HAPPY NEW YEAR. Very interesting post of tis bird well presented. To my opinion it is not equaly exposed, so details are soft especially on head and the sharpness is not the appropriate. Some flash fire was need. I did another image in WS and in case you dont like, abord it.
