The Australian Pelican is known as Pelecanus conspicillatus. It has a wing span of between 2.5 to 3.4 metres and so, is a large bird. They are characterised by a long beak and a large throat pouch used for catching prey and draining water from the scooped up contents before swallowing. |

Hello Robert,
Your Australian Pelican has been captured quite nicely in this wonderful inflight image. Lovely black and white plumage and excellent eye contact. Focus is sharp, giving us a great look at its unique body features. I believe I would have removed the boat for aesthetic reasons only. Great work!!
