This hawk was one of those on display at the Falconry Centre at Settle, West Yorkshire. This particular bird exhibited for the public, in fact, my friend had been given a morning's flying as a birthday present, and he flew this bird.

It was a very interesting experience and is a wonderful way to nurture interest in birds. We noticed lots of children, who had been brought by very enlightened parents, finding out about the birds and handling them. Despite the fact that it was quite a misty day, the children had as much fun as we did.
