On our way back from Red Rock Canyon, we made a quick stop to capture this mountian. To me it looked as if the peak was hanging to one side.

I was hoping to post some mor photos of Waterton Lakes NP, but I am disapointed with the result of most of the photos I took that day. Maybe I'll figure out later how to at least make something out of it.

Anyway, this one was OK, eventhough, I had to crop a lot and do some PP work to get it to look like this. It was shot in RAW.

After upload note: Again, the upload has cost me some of the quality.

Niek,
This is a rather interesting POV, with the rocky upper ridges being highlighted a bit by the sun. The clouds in the sky are a nice addition to the overall composition, and it's good that there was no cloud behind your subject.
Personally I would have cropped out the road and made it more of a landscape photo.

I'm sorry to hear most didn't come out but I like this one. I love the placement of the dead trees in the composition. They draw your eye back down to the bottom of the picture after the mountain has drawn yout eye to the top. They help balance the composition. I love all the wonderful trees and the mountain is a great shape.

Looks like the sort of place I would like to wander around

hello Niek.
You seem to like the mountains! if it is the case, I resemble to you. This one is impressive by its height. It's a pity that one sees an end of road in the foreground.
All the same, beautiful photograph, thank you, Arnaud.

Hello Niek, amazing view and beautiful place, very good PoV and DoF indeed in my opinion.
The road does take a bit of the nature glamour, but not so a big deal.
TFS,
Nelson

Very interesting mountain, Niek. I had to look back to see if I had photographed it, but no. I haven't had much luch with these semi-close-ups of mountains -- I think we're more accustomed to WA landscapes, so I'll be curious to see what kind of response you get. I think the mountain is interesting, and I would have shot it, too. But I agree with BillyGoat about the road. I tried a WS where I gave it a slight rotation before cropping to retain the tree. See what you think.

Hello Niek,
This is an interesting pov. Well shown this rocky peak. The bright blue sky with clouds give dimension to this picture. Regards,

Hello Niek,
An impressive peak, this one..!
Nice point of view, looking up from this close makes the mountain even more impressive...
Good details, interesting landscape, all topped by a fine summer sky!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Niek!
The craggy peak rises like a sentinel into a a brilliant sky from your perspective. Awe inspiring picture, indeed.
Well done and TFS.

Hoi Niek,

Een prachtige foto weer. Ik vind bergen altijd erg indrukwekkend, en deze heb je goed weergegeven.
Kleuren zijn mooi, en de positie vanaf waar je deze foto hebt genomen, laat goed zien hoe machtig deze berg is.
Prachtig!

Groetjes, Nel

I just took an image of this same peak from about the same spot. If I ever get caught up I'll post it because it shows the same scene but with fall colors. You have some good saturation here which could be perked up with the Shadows slider in "Highlights and Shadows"
