Wstęp: I belong to India and live in Bangalore.Wild Life conservation is my passion and photography my hobby.I use photography and journalism mainly to highlight the plight of wild life in India.I was interested in cameras along with a love for nature from my school days.My first camera was an Agfa Box I switched over to Rolliflex later. My first SLR was an Asahi Pentax and then Minolta. Now I am a dedicated Nikonian.
I am of the firm belief that unless concerted efforts are made by conservationists, India will lose many of her beautiful denizens of the forests in the near future. Best way to project conservation and awarenes of nature is thru photographs.I am sure Trek Nature will help me.
India has lost her Cheetah and several other mammals in the last century and may lose many others like tiger, leopard,Asiatic Lion, one horned Rhino, bow antlered deer etc this century.
The massacre of wildlife started at the beginning of the last century when the local rulers vied with some of the British in taking it as a "sport".A small time ruler of Sarguja alone is credited (or better discredited)with killing of 1100 tigers,2000 leopards,2 Asiatic lions and even an Indian Cheetah till independent India pensioned him off along with other local rulers.
With population growth and encroachment of forests, human race continues to be the greatest destroyer of nature. I am constrained to quote Jawaharlal Nehru in his forward to E.P.Gee’s book ‘The Wild Life Of India’. I quote :

“Wild life? That is how we refer to the magnificent animals of our jungles and to the beautiful birds that brighten our lives. I wonder sometimes what these animals and birds think of man and how they would describe him if they had the capacity to do so. I rather doubt if their description would be very complimentary to man. Inspite of our culture and civilization, in many ways man continues to be not only wild but more dangerous than any of the so called wild animals.”
I invite critical review and suggestions for improving my photographic skill without any reservations. Thanks in advance.
